Cardiac Cycle :
The pumping action of the heart - Deoxygenated blood from various parts of the body is returned to the right atrium via the superior and inferior vena cava. - When the right atrium contracts, blood flows into the right ventricle. - Between the right atrium and the right ventricle is the triscupid valve. - It remains open to allow blood to flow into the right ventricle. - When the right ventricle contracts, blood pressure increases and forces the triscupid valves to close. - This prevents backflow of blood into the atrium. - Blood leaves the right ventricle by the pulmonary arteries which lead to the lungs.
